Overview:
This project will adapt the Community Aging in Place, Advancing Better Living for Elders (CAPABLE) intervention already offered to older adults for a new population – non-Medicaid PwD and their caregivers – and in a new setting – the Department of Human Service (DHS) Area Agency on Aging (AAA). This project will also examine how effective CAPABLE is in maintaining independence of PwD and improving their caregiver’s quality of life.

The project is based on the previous success of CAPABLE in reducing disability and Medicaid costs for low-income seniors, and the program’s uptake by other organizations serving older adults like Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Administration, and Johns Hopkins Hospital-Home Care.
